August 11, Sunday

Woke once more to stunning blue skies and sunshine.  We hope the forecast for Scotland is as accurate as it has been for Sweden.  According to the forecast we should have had rain almost everyday here but instead it’s been mostly dry and warm.  We got into the car again and drove to Malmo but only took a quick drive through the city and left.  Again, another big city that has been ruined by too many people and too much traffic.  The buildings were quite lovely but the place has been overrun by immigrants and the crime rate is quite high.  What a shame.  I’m sure that the Swedish people can’t be happy about what is happening to their country.
So next we headed to Lund.  Another really nice small city.  We parked the car and took maybe a 15 minute walk around. But again it was Sunday.  People seem to gather in the squares and have coffee or maybe an ice cream and visit.  All the shops, barring a few restaurants and pizza places,  are shut down.  Reminds us of Canada about 50 years ago.  So, in the end we drove back to Trelleborg, which was our first stop in Sweden.  We had a delicious Thai lunch and then took the seaside route back to Höllviken.  Our evening is going to consist of packing up our bags,  a light dinner, maybe an evening walk and early to bed.  We would like to be on the road by 10:00 tomorrow morning.  After dropping the car off at the rental we will have about an eight hour wait until we have to be at the airport.  We are trying to come up with a few ideas on how to fill them.  Our flight to Edinburgh doesn’t leave until 10:55 and arrives in Edinburgh at 10:50.  How about that!  By the time we get through customs, pick up our luggage, get our rental car and drive to Leslie’s it’s going to be way past my bedtime.  It will be so good to be back in Scotland!
